Senmut
Vizier of Hatshepsut
1490 -1468 B.C.

Senmut seems to have come from undistinguished origins to become the Vizier for Hatshepsut when her husband Thutmose II died and she became the regent for her young son Thutmose III.

Senmut assisted Hatshepsut in declaring herself Pharaoh in her own right. After 22 years of rule, both Hatshepsut and Senmut disappeared from history quite suddenly and Thutmose III became Pharaoh.
